MEET ASANTE KOTOKO MIDFIELDER, SAMUEL APPIAH KUBI WHO DOUBLES AS OMANHENE FOR NKORANZA SEFWIMAN
Samuel Appiah Kubi is an offensive midfielder who joined Asante Kotoko from Nkoranza Warriors earlier this year under the recommendation of then headcoach Paa Kwasi Fabian.
Nana Appiah Kubi Samuel doubles as the omanhene for Sefwiman, a suburb of Nkoranza.
Speaking to *KUMASI FM 104.1MHZ*, he confirmed the latest revelation and added combining football with chieftaincy won't affect his career as a footballer;
'I'm from Nkoranza in the Brong Ahafo region and I'm the chief of Sefwiman. It's been three years since I was enstooled as chief, I had then returned from Madagascar. I made the elders aware I wouldn't leave my football career for the chieftaincy role.
They primarily didn't like the idea but I argued I wouldn't want to leave my passion for people especially the aged to worship me as a chief.
It doesn't affect me because I perform rituals yearly and in the adjudicating of cases and emergency situations, I have elders who do that in my absence. I only go back in emergency situations.
The entire playing body and management knows I'm a chief, initially it was only the coach who knew about it. Even before that the players and everyone gave me the maximum respect needed.
I have elders who will be in charge and see through the smooth running of my administration so I'm opened to contracts outside the country.
I have no intentions of leaving football for the chieftaincy role now until I'm no more energetic or is affected by an injury. I will feature for Kotoko in case we play any team in Nkoranza.
