WATCH YOUR TONGUE CAMPAIGN should be a national agenda - Chief of Assin Andoe said after thunder strike couple dead
The Chief of Assin Andoe in the Assin South District who doubles as the Adontenhene of Apimanim Traditional council Nana Kwaku Atta Banafo has pleaded with Ghanaians especially married couples to take the WATCH YOUR TONGUE CAMPAIGN by Officer KOA into serious consideration and be careful about their utterances whenever there is a quarrel.
According to him, fighting in marriage or relationship is normal but when the anger leads to a curse, it becomes dangerous, he said, someone will say, I will not marry again, I won’t allow sex again, when I do thunder should strike me, but they mostly forget about those comment when their temper is down.
Nana Atta Banafo made this comments after thunder kill married couple in the farm at Assin Andoe Sibo Junction yesterday and urged Ghanaians to think right, speak right and let their actions be right as always said by Officer Kwasi Ofori Appiah ( KOA )
On the way forward he said, the chiefs has called for the family of the deceased to come together and find a drastic solutions to the situation since it is perceive to be spiritually inclined in other to resist further occurrences.
Thunder strike couple to dead after a heavy downpour Thursday evening at Assin Andoe Sibo Nkwanta in the Assin South District of the Central Region.The deceased couple was Emmanuel Botwey 27, and Rita Nketia 26.
According to an eyewitness, Opanin Yaw Mensah, who is the father of the late Rita Nketia and in-law of Emmanuel Botwey he said, they were clearing a portion of land when the rain started, so they stopped and stood at one place using plantain leaves as a canopy, we saw the first lightening and we wanted to go home but the rain was too heavy: suddenly there was another strange lightening and instantly i saw my wife, daughter and my son in-law on the ground lifeless, my wife gain consciousness after some minutes but my daughter and son in law could not wake up again, he added.
Opayin Yaw Mensah in an interview with the media confirmed that, the deceased couple were saving together to buy a plot of land, on the Wednesday, Emmanuel Botwey took Gh20 from the savings to watch uefa Champions League match and that resulted in a verbal fight: he said, they allegedly curse themselves not to marry each other again else thunder should strike them dead.
The body of the deceased couple has been deposited at St. Francis Xavier Hospital Morgue at Assin Fosu in the Assin Fosu Municipality.
